Our company carries out comprehensive development control according to APQP process, and the development process is divided into the following five steps. After the project is approved, the special project manager will be responsible for customer docking and progress control: 

1. Design project approval: set up a project team composed of business, project, technology, quality and equipment to conduct project approval;

2. Conceptual design: design scheme establishment and internal review;

3. Detailed design: establish product scheme and tooling scheme; Customer approval; Process plan locking;

4. Design verification: DVP test verifies product scheme, and small-batch trial production verification process scheme;

5. Design archiving: OTS accreditation and PPAP accreditation, data archiving, design summary and handover to production department.

•5 steps are defined as gate1-gate5.

• Each step has a corresponding delivery key. All deliverables must be complete and meet the requirements before opening the Gate to enter the next step.

• All gates have a clear opening time review.

Gate 1 设计立项 

Purpose: to specify design input 

Key: project approval report, design input review form

Gate 2 概念设计

Objective: to establish the design scheme 

Key: concept plan, initial parts list, special features summary, DFMEA, test plan, review report

Gate 3 Detailed design 

Objective: to lock product plan, tooling plan and process plan 

Key: design review report, initial sample (RP) review report, tooling 3D data and 2D drawings, process development review report

Gate 4 Design verification 

Objective: to verify the product scheme by DVP test 

Key: problem list, validation report

Gate 5 Design file 

Objective: file documents, design summary, transfer to production department 

Keys: OTS approved, PPAP approved
